The Baptist Witness is an online e-zine functioning as part of the CARE Initiative of Dayspring Baptist Church of Trafalgar, Indiana. The CARE (Christians Advancing Revival and Evangelization) Initiative represents the guiding philosophy of ministry that underlies our efforts at Dayspring Baptist Church of Trafalgar. It does not represent so much any new innovations as it does a "back-to-basics" ideology and approach to ministry. The basic tenets of the CARE Initiative are as follows:

1. An intensive, on-going prayer campaign patterned after the upper room prayer meeting described in Acts 1 & 2, with the purpose of reviving the old-time prayer meetings practiced by Christians in America and the United Kingdom during the 19th century.
2. Prayer-based evangelization efforts that combine traditional soul-winning methods such as door-to-door evangelization and public ministry with the technology and resources available in twenty-first century America.
3. The development of in-depth, no-cost discipleship programs, materials and resources designed to thoroughly disciple every convert both in Bible doctrine and consecrated holy living from an independent fundamental Baptist perspective.
4. The development of extensive and intinsive training programs for the purpose of thoroughly equipping church planters, missionaries, evangelists, pastors, teachers and other Christian workers for ministerial work both domestically and on the mission field.
5. The development of effective support systems and resources available for the assistance of local churches and Christian workers both domestically and on the mission field.
